The penultimate leg of the 2019 Gibraltar Race crosses into Portugal to give participants a mix of terrain and difficulty. The classification becomes more and more compelling when only one day is left to Finisterre!
While we are writing to you, the drivers are running the last special stages of this Gibraltar Race 2019: in the afternoon they will reach the Finisterre lighthouse, the final point of this path started two weeks ago from Gdansk. Here we will hold the final ceremony and the award ceremony for the drivers who have distinguished themselves.
The penultimate stage, which began in Zamora, took them first to Portugal and then back north to Spain. It was a route that brought together all the off road difficulties encountered in the last few days. A nice mix of white roads, dirt, grass, shaken grass and even trees on the other side of the road made this test a thrilling one too. A sort of final summary that the participants particularly liked.
Among them the most precise one was Mark Kinnard, who thus nibbles a few points at his friend Alistair Allan and takes a small advantage over his pursuers Mirco Bettini and Bob Coerse. Renato Zocchi on Honda X-ADV is seventh and continues to lead the Class 2 classification with a wide margin over his pursuer David Zimmermann.
Among these names will be tonight the overall winner of this Gibraltar Race, even if the biggest victory is that of this whole group of riders that will complete a long and exciting adventure.
